In self-defense, Veronika, a mother of two, kills a corrupt municipal official. Under the cover of the night, she, with the assistance of her younger daughter, disposes of the body by tying it to an anchor and casting it into the depths of the sea. Though no one suspects her for his disappearance, the guilt burdens her conscience and her family.
