Two boys, one from Slovenia and the other from Syria meet in a refugee camp in Greece in 2016. Both are 14 and love football, both have the same dreams, but their worlds are different. Can the friendship they forge outlive and win over the hate and fear imposed by others, as all they want is to play football together?

Boris Petkovič

Boris Petkovič (1971) graduated from film direction at the Paris film school EICAR, where he also taught for the following three years. In 2008, he came to Ljubljana where he works as a freelance film director. Petkovič’s filmography from 2010 includes four features: LGBT_SLO_1984 (2022, documentary), the national box-office hit Let Him Be a Basketball Player (2017, fiction), Balkan Whispers (2017, documentary), The Beat of Love (2015, fiction).

Iridium Film, founded in 2015, has already established itself in the wider European area as one of the more experienced Slovenian production companies focusing mainly on international co-productions. It has more than 10 production and co-production titles, including: Men Don't Cry (2017, A. Drljevic, Special Award—Karlovy Vary IFF), The Frog (2017, E. Jukic, Audience Award—Sarajevo FF), Only Human (2020, I. Ivanov, Audience and Cineuropa Awards—Leccea European FF). Iridium film has its own post-production, which adds value and flexibility to their projects.
