The wise birdwoman sends three birds to guide a girl into the dark unknown landscapes of her of her inner world. There lies sadness, uncertainty, death. But also transformation and the beginnings of what can sprout and bear fruit again.

Zarja Menart works as a film animator, illustrator and art director. She was the art director and main animator for several short films, including main animator for Špela Čadež's multiawarded films Nighthawk and Steakhouse. Menart was in these two films, side by side and together with Čadež, revitalising the multiplane cut-out technique. The short animated film The Three Birds will be her debut.
