Competition is a documentary that takes us to the Roma village of Pušča, Slovenia, where the first and only Roma volunteer fire department in the world tries to fit into Slovenia’s firefighter culture. Can they become Slovenian firefighters without putting their own identity at risk?

In his visually rich documentary opus, Miha Mohorič reveals the themes with anthropological and ethnographic characteristics. In his movies, he focuses particularly on overlooked social and cultural themes. He is and exceptional observer, who records the unspoken and the unheard with the sensible eye of a camera and with it, integrates the artistic aesthetic into the documentary film. He is a founder of Sagar Kolektiv and Kranjska Gora IFF. In his free time he is running a mobile cinema for children (www.hiddenwords.net).
