When Iris (29) completely unexpectedly hears from her father Jan (74) that he has had enough of life, she is forced to face the absurdity of the situation. As his unsettling deadline approaches, Iris decides to ignore the action plan of her family. She takes Jan to the snow-covered mountains of Slovenia to find a way of dealing with her father’s last wish.
Floor van der Meulen (1989, nl) studied Audiovisual Design at the Rotterdam WdKa Art Academy and the School of Visual Arts in New York. In 2014, she shot her international documentary debut Storming Paradise, broadcast by the Al Jazeera Channel and screened at numerous IFFs including DOK Leipzig. Her film 9 Days from My Window in Aleppo (2015) was selected for the Rotterdam IFF, DOK Leipzig, won the Best Short Film Award at the BFI FF London, as well as received, after more than 85 festival selections, the Best European Short Film Award at the 29th European Film Awards. Floor recently finished her documentary The Last Male On Earth, which has again been selected for the CPH:DOX in Denmark.
