ANDREJ (15), a quiet and withdrawn teenager, lives in the countryside with his FATHER (45), a hunter. Teased by his peers and affected by his mother’s absence, Andrej spends his days in solitude. Step by step, his unusual transformation begins: fur spreads across his body and he slowly loses the ability to speak. He is turning into a wild animal. Andrej hides his appearance from his father, who suspects a beast is lurking nearby. One cold winter morning, the father spots a wolf in front of the house, which escapes into the nearby forest. With a rifle on his shoulder, he heads into the woods to hunt the wolf and find his son.

Miha Reja

Miha Reja is an animation filmmaker. At the School of Arts, University of Nova Gorica, he created two short animated films, Za Zaprtimi Roletami (2020) and Kurent (2022), both recipients of multiple festival awards as well as awards from the Slovene Animated Film Association. Miha is a master's student at MOME (Hungary). During the development of his short animated film Kožuh, he took part in the workshops Kratka scena (SI), CEE Animation Rise & Shine (HR/SI), and The Animation Workshop (Viborg, DK).

“In Kožuh, as in my graduation film Kurent, I continue exploring the individual in the fragile years of growing up and their place in society, which also resonates with adults. Through an intimate teenage story and a symbolic transformation into a wolf, the grotesque-melancholic 2D animation explores silence, anger, loneliness, unresolved grief, and repressed emotions of adolescence.”
ZVVIKS is a production company established in 2001, focused on the development and realization of original animated films and series. Their animated films are regularly featured in the programs of domestic and international film festivals, television networks, and streaming platforms, and have received numerous awards. In addition to audiovisual projects, they place significant emphasis on cultural and educational initiatives, educating both young people and adults in the field of animated film.
