ELVIS STARLING humorously navigates the life of a fourteen-year-old aspiring inventor. Passionate about chemistry, comics, and the beautiful Hana, he faces major upheaval when his parents divorce, forcing him to live with his mom, younger sister, and grandmother. Chaos intensifies when his mother announces a new pregnancy. Amid bullying and family turmoil, Elvis embarks on a funny, dynamic teenage journey, learning to handle challenges, piece his life back together, and stay true to himself. Through these experiences, he gradually matures, discovering what truly matters in life and finding his place in a fractured family and school world.

Boris Jurjaševič

Boris Jurjaševič (Slovenia) is a film and television director and screenwriter whose work spans feature films, TV series, documentaries, and commercials. A graduate of the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana, he is known for combining sharp social insight with distinctive visual storytelling across genres from drama and crime to comedy. Since his debut in the 1980s, Jurjaševič has created an extensive body of work, including The Loves of Blanka Kolak, Blues for Sara, Queen of Hearts and the acclaimed TV crime series The Cases of Inspector Vrenko.

“Elvis Starling is a coming-of-age story exploring relationships with peers and parents, first love and friendship. It is a youth film about a very likable protagonist who is searching for his place both within his family and among his peers. Today's youth is quite different; they have different interests. I think they're much more mature. The actors in our film are phenomenal - you can talk to them as if they were adults. We work together as equal partners.”
