Luka Marčetić (b. 1985, Zagreb) graduated from Ljubljana's Institute and Academy of Multimedia. He created Slovenia's first web series “Day of Love” and the Slovenian hit TV series “Paired Up”. His 2016 low-budget comedy “At Hostar” broke Slovenian box office records, becoming the country's most-viewed film ever, followed by a similarly successful sequel. “Girl in the Night” is his first auteur feature.

“I am deeply interested in people who are mostly quiet, shy, and to a point enjoy solitary existence. These people often go unnoticed in everyday life, yet they possess a unique strength in their quietness. I always wanted to put them in roles of vulnerable heroes and antiheroes. This is a story about boredom and the search for friendship in very strange circumstances.”
