Žiga Virc

Žiga Virc is a Slovenian film director and producer known for blending documentary and fiction. He gained international attention with Trieste Is Ours! (2009), a Student Academy Award finalist. His acclaimed feature Houston, We Have a Problem! (2016) premiered at Tribeca, screened at major festivals, and became Slovenia’s Oscar® entry and first Slovenian film on Netflix. His short films include A New Home (2016), which premiered at TIFF, and Kismet (2025), which screened at Oberhausen, Vila do Conde, PÖFF Shorts, and Palm Springs. In 2023 he co-founded the production company LILIT.
