Ester Ivakič

Ester Ivakič (1992) is a director and screenwriter who graduated in Digital Arts and Practices from the Academy of Arts in Nova Gorica (formerly the School of Arts) in 2016, and then studied film directing at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana. In 2016, she received a Special Jury Mention at the Festival of Slovenian Film for her student film Srdohrd, and in 2021 she won the Best Slovenian Film award at the FeKK Festival for her short film Magical Castle is Here Now. In the meantime, she has written, directed and edited several short films and music videos, as well as written the screenplay and attended various workshops for her debut feature film Ida Who Sang So Badly Even the Dead Rose Up and Joined Her in Song, which will soon see the light of day.
